Technical Support
Q. How do I get technical support for my foot pedal or SUM Program software?
A. Technical Support Notes and Tips on HPI software products and foot pedals are available on HPI's Free Downloads page at www.hpisum.com/free_downloads.ihtml. If, after downloading the appropriate information, you still have questions, you can contact Horus Development for free technical support for The SUM Program CD products and foot pedals. Visit the www.horusdevelopment.com Web site for detailed instructions on foot pedal troubleshooting, software installation issues, or any questions you may have about the use of these products, or e-mail your questions directly to support@horusdevelopment.com.
Payment Options
Q. Can I use a purchase order? Will you bill my company?
A. Purchase orders are not accepted, and HPI does not bill. Prepayment is required. Payment is accepted in the form of checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Q. May we send our payment through a wire transfer?
A. Yes, wire transfers are accepted, with a $15 bank service fee added to your order. If you wish to pay by wire transfer, please correspond with us through e-mail or fax to verify the amount of your order plus all shipping and bank transfer charges. Also, let us know the date the bank transfer was sent so we can watch for its arrival (usually 3-4 business days later). Your order will be shipped when payment has been received and verified.
Shipping
Q. How will my order be shipped?
A. Within the United States we use both UPS ground and Federal Express ground for standard shipping. Overnight shipping is also available for a surcharge, determined by weight.
Shipments overseas vary from country to country.
Q. When will I receive my order?
A. All in-stock items are shipped from our California warehouse within 3-5 business days (usually sooner) after payment is received, but you should allow about two weeks for the package to reach you. Out-of-stock items are shipped immediately when available. For special shipping requests, e-mail Carmen Trammell with your order and address particulars at trammell@hpisum.com.
No-Return Policy
HPI adheres to a strict no-return policy on all merchandise, although defective materials are replaced immediately free of charge. We provide comprehensive information in print and on-line about our products, and also offer free consultations by e-mail or phone prior to purchase. If you are not sure if the product will meet your needs, please contact us with your questions.
Door Prize Donations
For many years HPI has generously donated merchandise to be used as door prizes at AAMT chapter functions. Door prizes typically consist of one or more books. We also send enough HPI catalogs and copies of our magazine Perspectives on the Medical Transcription Profession for each attendee. If your chapter has an upcoming event, please visit the Free Downloads section of this web site to download a "Door Prize Request" form. Forms should be submitted at least one month prior to the event.
If you need the "Door Prize Request" form faxed or e-mailed to you, please e-mail debcook@hpisum.com with your request.
Prentice Hall's Medical Transcription Practice and Fundamentals
The staff of Health Professions Institute authored the Medical Transcription Fundamentals and Practice course and textbook for Prentice Hall. It is published, marketed, and distributed by Prentice Hall and is not available from HPI.
Medical Transcription Fundamentals and Practice is an excellent introductory course to medical transcription, intended primarily for medical assistants and others who may do some transcription but for whom transcription is not their primary responsibility. It is not a replacement for The SUM Program. The course consists of a textbook, an interactive CD-ROM or audiocassette tapes with a total of six hours of physician dictation, a companion Web site, and a transcript key. Dictations include samplings from dermatology, urology, gastroenterology, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, endocrinology, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, neurology, psychiatry, pathology, and radiology. Contact Prentice Hall for further information, or visit their Web site at www.prenhall.com/medtrans.
